Caretaker suspected of seducing boy

Teenager’s parents file complaint with police over alleged sexual relations between 28-year-old woman, 14-year-old boy

TEL AVIV - A 28-year-old caretaker is suspected of engaging in sexual relations with a 14-year-old boy at a central Israel hospital.

The woman was taken in for questioning and the police asked the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court saturday night to keep her in custody, the court sentenced to her house arrest for six days.

In Israel, it is not illegal for women to have sex with a minor as long as the relations are consensual and not a result of coercion.

Police launched the investigation after the boy’s parents filed a complaint last Thursday. Investigators discovered the caretaker was assigned to a girl hospitalized next to the boy’s bed, and eventually befriended the teenager.

Teacher had sex with teens

Evidence revealed during the investigation apparently points to a sexual relationship between the woman and the boy. As a result of the findings, police arrested the woman.

The latest story comes on the heels of other recent cases where teenage boys were having sex with older women across the country.

In one such case, a high-school Arabic teacher maintained a sexual relationship with two 16-year-old boys from another school. The teacher was questioned by police and was not charged with committing a crime.
