Tourism continues to rise

JERUSALEM - Tourism increased 27 percent over the first five months of the year, figures published on Tuesday showed. The Central Bureau of Statistics said 709,000 people visited Israel in the January-May period.

In May, 172,100 tourists came to Israel, the highest monthly total since last August, and surpassing April's level of 163,000, when people flocked Israel for Pesach. (Reuters)
