Israeli ECI wins contract in Costa Rica
Company wins USD 59 million contract to supply communication network in Costa Rica
Major contract for Israeli telecom company: Israeli company ECI Telecom announced Monday it has signed a contract with the Costa Rican national infrastructures and electricity company, ICE, to provide the country with an advanced communication network to enable the routing of all communication traffic.
The deal is estimated at a value of USD 59 million.
ECI's project is set to include a deployment of an optic transmission network, which will provide the local company with the capacity to deliver voice and data transmission services to its mobile and fixed-line subscribers.
The project, which is still pending the authorization of the Costa Rican state comptroller, is expected to be launched in approximately three months. Installment will be completed 21 months later.
According to the deal, ECI will provide all aspects of the planning and installment of the optic fibers: supplying cables, digging up the tunnels and laying more than 1,000 kilometers of optic fibers across the rural and urban regions of the central American country.
ECI believes that its platform will provide Costa Rica with the optimal solution for communication networks.
"This contract is another boost for ECI's reputation abroad," the company's president and CEO Doron Inbar said.
