Coca Cola buys Israeli winery Tavor

Spin-off company of Coca Cola Israel has bought controlling interest in Israeli Tavor winery, which manufactures boutique wines

IBBLS, a subsidiary of Coca Cola Israel, has bought the 51 percent controlling interest in the Israeli Tavor winery, which manufactures and markets boutique wines.

 

Both companies have refused to provide further details on the deal, which sources in the food industry estimate is valued at millions of dollars.

 

The purchase is expected to boost cooperation between the winery and the Israeli soft drinks manufacturer.

 

Coca Cola Israel has been looking to invest in a winery in recent months, and has been in negotiations over purchasing the Carmel Mizrahi or the Barkan wineries in the past .

 

However, a deal did not materialize, and the Barkan winery was eventually bought by Coca-Cola Israel's main competitor in Israel - Tempo.
