A Palestinian youth was killed and six Israelis were injured Thursday along the bypass road south of Jerusalem. The wounded were taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
IDF troops identified 15-year-old Adnan Taiseer along the Hossen bypass road west of Bethlehem, after he threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli vehicle. The route serves hundreds of Israeli cars on a daily basis.
Forces shot and injured the youth; he was pronounced dead by a military doctor who arrived at the scene to treat him.
Troops found another three Molotov cocktails near the youth's body.
His funeral was held in the village of Hossen a short time later.
While the IDF was prepared for any disturbances and had deployed troops to the area, several Palestinians managed to slip out the village and threw stones and concrete blocks at Israeli vehicles along the road.
One Israeli women suffered moderate head injures as a result. Paramedics evacuated her to the Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
Three other Israelis were lightly injured and were treated on the spot by Magen David Adom. They were also taken to hospital for further medical assistance.
Damage was caused to six cars.
