Israel said on Wednesday it regrets the "tragic" deaths of four U.N. observers in southern Lebanon and will thoroughly investigate the air strike that killed them.
"Israel sincerely regrets the tragic death of the UN personnel in south Lebanon," said Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev. "We do not target UN Personnel and, since the beginning of this conflict, we have made a consistent effort to ensure the safety of all members of UNIFIL. This tragic event will be thoroughly investigated," Regev added. (Reuters)
