Malaysia pledges to send 1,000 troops to Lebanon

Malaysia plans to send 1,000 soldiers for peacekeeping in Lebanon as soon as a cease-fire is declared in the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, the national news agency reported Friday.

"Currently, we are finalizing preparations for the departure," Defense Forces Chief Mohamad Anwar Mohamad Nor was quoted as saying by Bernama news agency. (AP)
