Jewish Canadian musician Peaches is back with third album: Impeach My Bush
Since she burst on to the scene in 2000 with her debut album, Jewish Canadian musician Peaches has gained a cult following with her particular brand of rock-tinged dance music and her frequently explicit, lyrics.
It's been three years since her last release, the snappily-titled Fatherf-er, but now she's back with her third album, Impeach My Bush.
Born Merrill Nisker in Toronto in 1968, Peaches spent several years living and working in Berlin although has now relocated to Los Angeles. She's worked with a whole host of musical names including Pink, Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk and Iggy Pop – and you might also have heard her music in such films as Oscar winner Lost in Translation and the teen comedy Mean Girls.
So what can fans expect from Impeach My Bush? Well, if you've heard Peaches' music before then you'll be pleased to know it's business as usual here, with her usual mix of fast-paced dance tunes, fuzzy rock guitars and filthy words.
Highlights include the two singles, Downtown (no relation to the Petula Clark classic) and Boys Wanna Be Her, which blends dance and rock to winning effect. If you've liked Peaches' previous albums, you're going to love this – if you've never heard her music before, then this serves as a great introduction.
