1940s: Jerusalem builds a sukkah

Many things have changes in Jerusalem since the 1940s, but sukkot in house yards and markets selling the four species can also be found these days. Trudy and Miko Schwartz's work collection includes many festive nostalgic photos, which were apparently taken in Jerusalem during the High Holidays.

There is no documentation of the photos. On some of them someone wrote "the Bukharan community" or just "Sukkot" or "Simchat Torah." Readers who recognize the people or sites in the photos are invited to send a comment to the article.
