Minicom secures investment from Intel Capital

Funds will expand product range, strengthen sales effort of Israeli company

According to a Wednesday press release, Minicom Advanced Systems Ltd., developer and manufacturer of digital and analog solutions for KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) server management, announced that it has received an investment from Intel Capital. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

Minicom Advanced Systems, based and founded in Jerusalem, is a leader in the development of internet-based centralized KVM access technologies and multi-media distribution systems.

Minicom products feature out-of-band access to servers, enabling system administrators to maintain vital control when system problems arise.

The company is also a leading expert in the development of audio/video (AV), and serial distribution systems, which are essential for cost-effective installation and maintenance of in-store advertising and public display networks for the growing Digital Signage market.

Minicom Advanced Systems currently has a global presence in over 50 countries, with regional headquarters in North America and Europe. In 2005, the company acquired Replicom Ltd, a leading developer of remote KVM systems, which operates today as Minicom’s R&D center for IP technology.
