Plea bargain for Palestinian who killed Israeli
Mohammad Jaidi, 21, of Qalqilya, murdered Inbal Amram, 21, of Petah Tikva, while trying to steal her car
Mohammad Jaidi, 21, could be sentenced to life in jail as part of a plea bargain sealed on Tuesday at the Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court.
Jaidi confessed that he had kidnapped Amram, set her body on fire, robbed her car and entered Israel illegally.
Prosecutor Eli Shwartz said: "The confession is enough to secure the public interest."
Jaidi was indicted in April.
Amram was found in her car which was abandoned in open fields between Ramat Aviv and Glilot. Police found stabbing marks in her neck.
Abandoned the car
Jaidi, who is known to police as a car thief, was arrested and accused of the murder.
Jaidi had observed Amram entering her Peugeot 406 in Petah Tikva and forced his way into the car, threatening Amram with a knife.
He drove away with Amram and stabbed her in the neck when she tried to throw herself out of the car.
After the stabbing, he lost his way in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area and decided to abandon the car in open fields when he spotted a police cruiser on the highway.
He left Amram in the car, where she died of her wounds.
