Multinational firm may invest in Israeli Aqua-Pure

Israeli startup which develops system for treating industrial, municipal waste water, eyed by one of leading multinationals in field of wastewater management

Senior executives in one of the major multinational companies in the field of wastewater management visited Israel last week in their process of researching for a potential NIS 14 million (USD 3.25 million) in the Israeli startup, Aqua-Pure Technologies Ltd., Yedioth Ahronoth recently learned. Aqua-Pure has not responded to the report.

The name of the interested company is unknown at this stage, but it is known that this will be the company's first investment in Israel.

Aqua-Pure is a graduate of incubator Meytag High Tech Venture from Katzrin and has developed an ozone treatment system for wastewater and pollution that uses electric currents.

Aqua-Pure recently successfully completed a test in its United States laboratory.

Aqua-Pure was established in 2002 by a group of private investors and is currently managed by Dvir Solnik. Until now, Aqua-Pure has raised some NIS 4.5 million (USD 1 million).

Growing awareness of the need for purifying water, as well as the developing interest of investment companies in clean-tech (environmentally friendly technologies) in the United States and Europe have made the companies specializing in providing recycling solutions into energy giants. As of today, the water purification market in the US alone is valued at USD 90 million.
