Amdocs to build second R&D center in India

Israeli company to reportedly invest USD 500 million in new center in Gurgaon district. Company already has similar center in city of Pune, which employs 2,300 workers

Amdocs expanding in India. The Economic Times Indian daily on Wednesday quoted Amdocs CEO Dov Baharav as saying during a visit to India that the Israeli company plans to build a second research and development center in the country at a cost of USD 500 million.

 

The center will reportedly be built in the Gurgaon district.

 

Amdocs already has a similar center in the city of Pune, which was built in 2004 and currently employs 2,300 workers.

 

According to estimations, the number of the company's employees in India will surpass 3,000 during 2007.

 

Amdocs currently employs about 16,000 employees across the world, about 5,000 of them in Israel.

 

The company develops customer care, billing and order management systems for telecommunications carriers and Internet services providers.
