On Wednesday afternoon, police located the body of 18 year old Maayan Ben Horin from Yuvalim near the communities Yodfat and Avtalyon in the Gush Misgav area in the north.
Maayan has been missing from home since Monday afternoon. The police suspect she was murdered.
After the body was found the police appealed to the Akko Magistrate Court, which issued a suppression order prohibiting publication of the details of the investigation and the findings at the site where the body was discovered.
Officers from the Misgav police station were the ones to discover the body. The whole Galilee police command was called to the spot.
As the search for Maayan continued on Wednesday morning, her sister Einav told Ynet, just before the body was discovered that "the more time passes, the more we fear she has gotten into an unpleasant situation against her will."
Hundreds of volunteers, police officers and soldiers have showed up in order to help find the girl. Her family members who had ruled out the possibility that she had run away from home, asked that more volunteers help in the search.
Maayan was last seen in the town of Cawcab in the Western Galilee, a few kilometers away from where the body was found.
The young girl was riding with one of her schoolteachers when she asked to get off near a gas station in the village where she bought a pack of cigarettes and then disappeared.
Maayan was supposed to arrive at a farm between Yodfat and Avtalyon where she planned to work before joining the army. When she did not return home that evening, her parents notified the police.
