International fashion chain closing its flagship store in Tel Aviv, as sales fail to meet expectations
The international fashion chain Mexx is closing its flagship store in Israel after only a year and a half of operation, Yedioth Ahronoth has learned.
The company's only store in Israel is located in the Ramat Aviv Mall in Tel Aviv.
According to estimates, the company decided to close down the store due to its dissatisfaction with the extent of sales, which did not meet expectations.
Mexx's store in Israel was owned by a group of investors from Belgium, who purchased the franchise from the international company.
Mexx's products are marketed in more than 9,500 sales points in 45 countries, and its global sales turnover was estimated at 634.4 million euro (about $836.393 million) in 2004.
The Mexx store in the Ramat Aviv mall will be replaced by a Domo store, which offers kitchen tools and equipment.
