Sharon region alert lifted
Police set up roadblocks on Road 2, north of Tel Aviv, after receiving warning on terrorists' plan to carry out attack. Several suspects seized, but nothing found in their vehicle
Large police forces were deployed to the Sharon region, north of Tel Aviv, Tuesday morning following a warning received on terror organizations' plans to carry out a terror attack in the area.
Road 2 was blocked in both directions in the Shfayim area, and security forces were searching the area, causing heavy traffic jams.
Several suspects traveling in a taxi were detained, but nothing was found in their car. the road was later reopened for traffic.
The warning was received by the defense establishment Tuesday morning, while the Home Front Command began its joint missile attack drill with the police and rescue service.
