Police question Katsav over new complaint
Suspended president investigated again over new sexual harassment complaint
Suspended president Moshe Katsav was questioned by the police in his official Jerusalem residence for an hour and-a-half Thursday.
According to police, Thursday's investigation was prompted by a new sexual harassment complaint against Katsav and after new evidence had been obtained by the force.
Katsav is currently awaiting a hearing with Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, following which Mazuz will decide whether to indict the president for a series of sexual offenses, including rape.
However, Katsav's associates claimed that Thursday's investigation focused on the testimony of one of the complainants in the original case, who has allegedly changed her version.
In the meantime, Katsav's attorneys were working hard to fight off recent media reports greatly damaging to his image, and may petition the High Court of Justice to annul the proceedings against the suspended president due to what they claim is excessive media interference.
