"It is a mark of shame on Israel that (Balad Chairman Azmi) Bishara resigned from Knesset before being kicked out. If we were in a normal country, Bishara and his friends would not have been sitting in the Knesset, but rather standing trial," said right-wing activist Baruch Marzel Sunday afternoon.
Earlier Sunday, Bishara resigned via the Israeli embassy in Cairo, choosing not to return to Israel following criminal investigations against him. (Efrat Weiss)
