The new trend among Israeli celebrities (and some that would like to be considered that) is a page on myspace.com, the world's largest social network. They market themselves with videos, photos and music, and yes, will add practically everyone to their list of friends
A presence on "myspace" offers the want-to-be mega stars, exposure, a legitimate platform and the crucial added value of a sense of accessibility to the site's ultra-galactic personalities that are there including rock legend Paul McCartney, Sting, David Bowie, Madonna – and many others.
Looking at the Israeli artists' pages the differences between them become quickly apparent – some invest time and energy loading music and videos themselves and even making friends easily. Others – are not interested in making friends and feature mostly marketing materials.
Another interesting detail: as Israelis love traveling in packs, so do the celebrities on myspace, and their pages are interlinked to one another's.
