UN chief says UNIFIL, Lebanese army will act against Katyusha fire at Israel

UN Sec.-Gen. Ban Ki-moon said that UNIFIL peacekeeping forces and the Lebanese army had promised to work to locate those behind Sunday's Katyusha attack on Kiryat Shmona, and would make every effort to eliminate more attacks on Israel.

The attack constitutes the most severe violation of the blue line since the 2006 war and attempts to stabilize the situation in Lebanon, Ki-moon said a day after meeting with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. (Yitzhak Benhorin, WASHINGTON)
