Haifa train station renamed to memorialize 8 victims of Katyusha attack

None

The Haifa train station where eight Israelis were killed in a Katyusha attack during the Second Lebanon War last year was renamed Monday in their memory.

The station will now be called "Haifa Central – Hashmona (the eight)". At a ceremony in the victims' memory, Israel Train CEO Ofer Linchevsky said that renaming the station was "the right way to commemorate (the victims) in the Israeli consciousness. Anyone who passes here will ask who the eight are that the station is named after." (Ahiya Raved)
