Haier to invest $40 million in Israeli R&D center
Chinese producer of household appliances plans to open new center at beginning of 2008
Haier, the Chinese producer of household appliances, will invest an initial sum of $40 million in a research and development center it plans to build in Israel, Yedioth Ahronoth has learned.
The new center is scheduled to open at the beginning of 2008.
According to Yaron Tzfadia, who is in charge of Haier's activity in Israel, the company chose to build its R&D center in the Jewish state after coming to the conclusion that Israel has high-quality manpower in the fields the center will engage, along with a sense of creativity and initiative.
