Boaz Mauda is the winner of "A Star is Born 5" – the Israeli version of "American Idol." The finals held Wednesday night broke a rating record with over 1 million viewers. Hundreds of thousands of SMS messages clogged the cellular communication highway, most had one message: Boaz Mauda is the Star. Mauda, a 20-year-old soldier, the man with the butter voice and the muscular forearms, was one of the least controversial contestants and nicknamed a "Yemenite Cowboy" because of his job as a goat herder in his home village of Eliyakim. Marina Maximilian won second place with 27 percent of the votes and Shlomi Barel came third with 23 percent.
