ITL Optronics, a military defense electronics and electro-optics company, announced Thursday it had won a $7 million contract with the IDF.
ITL is to supply the IDF with advanced infantry electro-optic systems, thermal imaging, navigation, orientations and battle management systems, as well as with laser-aiming devices and sights.
Since the Second Lebanon War, the IDF has purchased about $26.7 million worth of advanced infantry and land forces systems from ITL.
The company's thermal imaging systems are especially designed for urban warfare and provide high quality imaging in both crowded and open areas.
the IDF also purchased various laser devices from ITL. These devices contain special features allowing the different systems – used by different forces on the battlefield – to "speak" to each other.
"The equipment purchased by the IDF would greatly advance the military's ability to conduct night-time operations, and would also help to further prevent friendly fire incidents," said a statement by ITL.
ITL is traded in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Its market value is estimated at $24.2 million.
