Michael with friends at the conference
Michael's novel was translated into Italian and published by Guintina publishing house.
Following the award ceremony, Michael left to Naples, where the annual three religions conference was held with Pope Benedict XVI, Chief Rabbi of Israel Yona Metzger, Muslim and Buddhist leaders. This year conference was titled "A Non-Violent World" in an attempt to promote intercultural dialogue.
Pope Benedict XVI called at the conference to enlist faith toward world peace and non-violence. Sami Michael compared the Jewish-Arab, secular and religious coexistence in the city of Haifa with the national and religious tensions in Jerusalem.
Michael also met with religious leaders from Iran, Syria, and Lebanon.
