Dimona bombers came through West Bank, hints Barak

"We are doing everything we can to solve the terror problem coming out of Hebron and the Qassams coming out of Gaza," said Defense Minister Ehud Barak Tuesday.

Barak spoke at a meeting with IDF cadets at the southern army base of Shizafon, essentially hinting that the two terrorists who carried out the suicide attack on a Dimona shopping center on Monday, came from the West Bank.

Initial defense establishment findings indicated that the bombers came through the breach Rafah border, but the two are now believed to have had infiltrated Israel form the West Bank.

"Sderot was hit by Qassam rockets again today. We had an attack on Dimona yesterday. We will find a solution, just like your parents found them, when fighting in the (Jordan Rift) Valley," said Barak.

The defense minister observed a combined-battle drill, later commenting on Israel's complex reality: "This isn't an easy time for Israel. This is an area that doesn't favor the weak and those who cannot defend themselves will not be given a second chance.

"Unfortunately, we will probably experience some operational difficulties hear and there, maybe even when we engage in combat… any such difficulties will probably have a price, but nonetheless, this is an army that can win any campaign."

Barak went on to speak about the importance of maintaining the IDF's ethics: "When in war, all you'll have around you is your platoon. Once a war starts, nothing happened according to plan, nothing looks like you thought it would, but still, we have to win in the face of adversity.

"The first thing that matters is to set a personal example, taking charge, showing initiative and ingenuity and above all – devotion… fighting has its price, but nothing stops the combat corps from carrying on their mission, until it is achieved."
