Shalom Hanoch to embark on US tour

Veteran rock 'n' roller to go on eight-city US tour with band; concerts to combine classic repertoire with new material

The Godfather of Israeli rock 'n' roll, Shalom Hanoch, will soon depart for the US where he is to commence a concert tour of several American cities. Hanoch is scheduled to fly to the US next week where he will perform in eight different cities across the country.

In the past, the Foreign Ministry as well as pro-Israel advocacy groups have organized performances by Israeli artists abroad in order to promote Israeli causes abroad. However, this time Hanoch has decided to make the trip of his own volition.

Band members Roni Peterson, Moshe Levy, Or Herzl and Asher Fedi will be joining the singer on the tour.

Hanoch has been fairly active lately, performing with Shlomo Artzi as well as in "Chayot Lila" (Night Animals) in Tel Aviv, "Yetzia" (Exit) and more.

In the US, Hanoch plans to combine classic old songs with newer ones like: "Sof Onat Hatapuzim" (End of the Orange Season), "Maya," "Cama Tov Shebata Habayta" (How Good it is That You've Come Home), "Mechakim Lemashiach" (Waiting for the Messiah), and others.

Hanoch and co. will be appearing at the Symphony Space in New York, the House of Blues in Chicago, at George Washington University in Washington, DC, the Trocadero in Philadelphia and the Avalon in Los Angeles.
