Yechiah's daughter was also grief-stricken by the sudden loss: "What will we do? I want my dad," she said while weeping. Known for his modesty Education Minister Yuli Tamir also attended the funeral and eulogized Yechiah, making note of his decision to start his college studies at a relatively late stage in life. "This was an admirable notion, and he walked on this path resolutely," she said. "I hope his children will teach us about how everyone should be." "We came here to commemorate Roni and his family…a man who almost realized his dream," she said. College President Ze'ev Tzahor said that the head of the school's logistics program, where Roni studied, called from abroad in tears when he heard about the tragedy. "Everyone at the college knew Roni, and not because he stood at podiums, but rather, because of his modesty," Tzahor said.
