The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) published encouraging data about Israel's unemployment rates Thursday, stating that not only has it been going steadily down since mid 2007, it has not reached its lowest rate in 12 years.
The first quarter of 2008 noted a 6.3% unemployment rate, as apposed to a 6.7% one in 2007's closing quarter. The Israeli unemployment sector, said the CBS, now numbers 185,000 – its lowest rate since February of 1995.

Within the unemployment sector, 5.9% those unemployed are men and 6.7% are women. The number of teen taking part in the workforce has risen 4.3% – approximately 2.7 million 15 to 17-year-olds have joined the workforce since 2007's first quarter.
CBS data also revealed that the number of those failing to find full-time employment despite their efforts has gone up 9.3%.
The survey also said that the biggest increase among those employed was noted in the academic sector, which went up 5.6%. The corresponding executive sector went up 5.5%.
