Eilat waiting for tourists

Charter flights are returning to Eilat. An impressive growth in the activity of international charter flights at the Eilat and Ovda airports in southern Israel
is expected in November and December of 2008.
About 12 weekly flights are scheduled to land in Eilat in the winter of 2008 from new destinations in Europe, including Dusseldorf, Berlin, Helsinki, Warsaw and Cracow.
In total, some 90,000 passengers are expected to pass in the Eilat and Ovda airports on some 900 direct international flights from Europe in the winter months.
The tourism revival in the city is expected to begin in October and end in March 2009. Some 30,000 tourists are estimated to arrive from the new destinations.
Additional countries expected to send tourists to Eilat are France (9,000 people), Russia (6,000), Britain (5,000) and Italy (4,500).
