Israeli producers present: Tickle the vote

Prominent US comedians team up with Israeli producers Boaz Yakin, Alma Harel, Jewish Alliance for Change in another online video supporting Democratic presidential hopeful Obama

The fight for the Jewish vote in the nearing US presidential election remains unwavering, as Israeli producers Boaz Yakin and Alma Harel released a new online video supporting Democratic candidate Barack Obama.

The video, titled "Ain't funny," features prominent American comedians and Hollywood figures, the likes of director Garry Marshall and actors Karl Reiner, Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Valerie Harper and Jerry Stiller. Sponsored by the Jewish Alliance for Change, it urges the Jewish public to vote for the only "serious option" the US has.

"Funny? It's not a funny election. Remember all those jokes we made about George Bush?" asks Reiner in the video. "Are you laughing now?" continues Harper.

"And he wants to put that girl who winks in the second position… Oh God we’re in trouble," continuers Reiner, jeering at Republican John McCain's choice for a running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

"We can't afford another joke in the White House," adds DeVito, leading to the roundup by Marshall, who points at a poster of Obama and says "I'm voting for hope. I'm voting for that one."

Yakin and Harel's video is not the first attempt made by the Democratic Party to swing the Jewish vote in its favor. Earlier in October, comedian Sarah Silverman was featured in an online video urging America's youth to influence the Florida-residing grandparent to vote for Obama.

Silverman's video sparked major controversy, and prompter an independent video to be released, this time starring veteran comedian Jackie Mason, who urged Jewish voters to cast whichever ballot their were comfortable with.

All eyes are now on Florida. According to US predictions, McCain desperately needs the state's 27 electoral votes in order to become president.

Obama himself has yet to become Tallahassee's favorite son, and so far has only been able to rally up 60% of the Jewish vote in the southeastern state – far less then John Kerry's 73% in the 2004 election, and Al Gore's 80% in the 2000 bid.
