Blue Man Group to perform in Israel
Three earless, black-wearing, blue-headed actors to grace Israeli stage with artistic fusion; show to feature performances ranging from Vaudeville acts to music, plastic art
The three bald and blue characters who have crazed crowds around the world for two decades, will arrive in Israel as part of the Mega Star performance’s world tour for a wild, funny and crazy stage event that mocks rock n’ roll stardom.
The show changes from place to place in accordance with the size of the hall and the audience. Its Israeli leg will offers a “plan in stages” for novice rockers, will be accompanied by eight musicians who play a wide-range of self-created instruments from plastic tubes to aluminum pipes, fiberglass drums and simple strings.
Alongside original music, instrumental covers are also featured in the show, and are usually versions of Ozzy Osbourne, the Who and Donna Summer songs.

The Blue Man Group’s original production hit New York stages in the early 1990’s and left the local newspapers’ tongue-tied when trying to define its essence.
Basically, it is a group of three earless, black-wearing, blue-headed writer-actors. During the performance they turn the use of the objects into one unimaginable celebration. There’s a bit of everything in this show – from Vaudeville acts to music and plastic art. Overall, this is purely first rate entertainment.
The phenomenal success the group has enjoyed over the years has brought with it an entire range industry of byproducts including, videos, DVDs, toys and musical instruments.
It all started on the streets of Manhattan with Phil Stanton, Chris Wink, and Matt Goldman, the founders. In 1991 the three men received the opportunity of a lifetime, when the managers of the legendary La Mama theater in New York decided to give them a chance.
From there on, they began appearing as a very successful Off-Broadway production. Just like all successful groups of this nature, the Blue Man Group has varying troupes around the world.
This show has held parallel performances in New York, Las Vegas, Orlando, Boston, Chicago, Tokyo and Berlin for years.
It doesn’t look as if they plan on opening a branch in Israel yet but thanks to producer Zeev Isaac, they plan on offering the Israeli audience a wonderful world of unique experiences.
