Dead Sea skin care company signs deal to sell products in 350 branches of international perfumery chain starting December
Ahava spa and skin care products will be on the shelves of world-wide beauty chain Sephora starting this December. The contract with the popular chain was signed this week after negotiations that lasted over a year.
In the first stages of the plan to infiltrate the company, Ahava will offer its products in 250 Sephora branches throughout France, including the global flagship store located on Champs Elysées, Paris' most prestigious avenue. By the end of 2009, the company is expected to have infiltrated some 350 branches in 15 more countries.
Sephora is one of the world's leading perfumery chains and has 750 branches. The chain offers a variety of over 350 beauty, scent and bath products, and more, and in the last year the company has opened dozens more stores in the United States.
The Dead Sea Laboratories company that manufactures the Ahava brand hopes to hold a place on the shelves of all Sephora branches in the future.
Ahava products are currently exported to 25 different countries, including the US, European countries, and recently, China and Japan. The company also operates four Ahava stores overseas, in London, New York, and two stores in Singapore, and plans to open two more stores in western Europe.
Ahava's export revenue stands at dozens of millions of dollars per year, and according to estimates is expected to rise by €7.5 million (about $9.57 million) in the first year of sales at Sephora. The launch in the international branch will include an international ad campaign headed by the company's celebrity spokesmodel, actress Kristin Davis.
Ahava will start with marketing 20 of its leading products from the lines Pure and Dermud for the treatment of dry and sensitive skin. The products include Dead Sea salts, moisturizer, nourishment cream, hand and foot cream, cleansers, eye cream, and more.
