Troops sustain light wounds; meanwhile, three children reportedly killed in Gaza strike

Cleared for publication: Nine soldiers sustained light wounds Wednesday during another day of fighting in the Gaza Strip. The wounded troops were taken to Soroka hospital in Beersheba.

 

Another 15 soldiers also wounded during IDF Operation Cast Lead are currently hospitalized at the same medical center. Three of them are in serious condition, and three others are in moderate condition.

Doctors in Soroka also treated12 civilian patients suffering from shock resulting from rocket barrages in the south.

 

Meanwhile, an Air Force strike on a car in the northern Gaza Strip killed a man and his three children on Wednesday, Palestinian medical officials said.

 

They described the man killed in Beit Lahiya as a civilian. The IDF had no immediate comment.

The Air Force attacked about 40 targets throughout the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, including four terrorist cells and tunnels used for arms smuggling.

 

Earlier in the day, Israel's National Security Cabinet voted in favor of continuing the IDF's military operation in Gaza. Meanwhile, Jerusalem made it clear that Israel has not yet accepted the Egyptian-French ceasefire imitative.
