IDF kills 2 Palestinians on Gaza fence

IDF force identifies group of four Palestinians approaching security fence in attempt to plant explosive device; military helicopter alerted to place, strikes cell, hitting at least two gunmen. One soldier lightly hurt in incident

IDF soldiers thwarted an attack against Israeli forces Tuesday morning when they prevented a Palestinian attempt to place an explosive device on the Gaza border.

A Golani Brigade unit operating in the Kissufim area identified a cell of at least four Palestinian gunmen approaching the fence.

The soldiers suspected that the gunmen were planning to plant an explosive device on the security fence and alerted an attack helicopter to the place. The military chopper shot and hit the cell members.

Palestinian sources reported that at least two of the cell members were hit in the strike.

According to the IDF two terrorists were killed in the attack and multiple explosives were found on their bodies.

One soldier was lightly hurt in the incident.

This is the first incident in weeks in which terrorists are killed on the fence. Despite the relative calm, the Southern Command is closely monitoring the developments in the area, and the Palestinians' incessant attempts to place explosives near the fence.
