The Bible and Love Festival

To celebrate Tu B’Av, the Jewish Festival of Love, the Bible and Love Festival will be held at the picturesque Beit Guvrin National Park from August 4 to August 8.

 

Leading Israeli artists Shalom Hanoch, Gidi Gov, Shlomo Gronich, Miri Mesika, Kobi Oz and others, plus the Andalusian Orchestra, the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, Vertigo Dance Group, the Jerusalem Theater Group and others will appear on the festival program.

 

Festival events include daily encounters with guest artists giving their own interpretation of the Bible. Special trips around the historic area are also included in the Festival program.

Eve’s Women 

Four musicians create a magical, diverse musical world, with fresh, new arrangements of familiar melodies and songs from Jewish tradition, klezmer tunes, and hasidic songs. A fascinating musical journey including improvisations created in each concert.

Free concert in the park

Every Saturday evening until September 2009, when the concert season resumes, the Municipality of Herzliya are holding free concerts in the new recreation park near the Sheva Kochavim Shopping Mall.

Concerts start at 6.30 pm and feature well-known music such as Gershwin and light classical pieces. There are plenty of comfortable chairs and ample parking is available.

The Municipality of Herzliya is to be commended for providing this free service for patrons during the hot summer moths in an ideal and comfortable setting.

 

Jerusalem Woodstock

Commemorating 40 years since the creation of Woodstock, the Jerusalem Woodstock will be held at Kraft Stadium, Jerusalem, on 5 August from 6 pm to 11 pm.

The Woodstock Music and Arts Fair which was first created in 1969 drew almost half a million people to a pasture in Sullivan County in the State of New York.

 

Artists to appear at Jerusalem Woodstock include Ronnie Peterson, Lazer Lloyd from Yood with his Rockin’ Rebbe, Hendrix, Geva Alon, Dolly Weinstein and more.

 

Mor Karbasi 

A singer and composer with a powerful voice and a stunning stage presence. East and West, old and new are heard in her voice and her songs, in a concert full of love, yearning, and nostalgia. Ancient music along with songs that she wrote and put to music, with unique musical arrangements in Spanish, Ladino, and Hebrew.

 

Songs from her debut album The Beauty and the Sea and from her forthcoming album, due out in the autumn of 2009.
