'Naughty mama' stuns police
Police patrol shocked to discover high-ranking female officer intoxicated, partly-clad in vehicle
Born to be wild? A female police officer ranked chief superintendent was found intoxicated and partly clad in a police vehicle overnight in the southern town of Ashdod.
Police officers who examined a vehicle parked at the northern entrance to the city were stunned to find the high-ranking officer, a 50-year-old woman, drunk and wearing nothing but her jeans and bra. The senior policewoman serves as an investigations officer in a sensitive police unit.
"It was very embarrassing. Her post, the way she looked, and the fact that she is a police officer," the policeman who handled the incident told Ynet. "The last thing you expect in this type of episode is to encounter a drunken female police officer."
The policewoman involved in the incident was out for the night and apparently came back drunk. For an unknown reason, she decided to stop her vehicle at the side of the road. According to one version of events, local residents informed police about a vehicle "traveling in an odd manner," prompting officers to rush to the area.
Police at the scene said the female officer was clearly intoxicated when first approached. Her blood-alcohol level was found to be double the legal limit in a subsequent test.
The National Traffic Police declined to comment on the incident, but officials made clear that the episode was handled just like any other similar case. A police spokeswoman said the female officer will face a hearing Sunday and that the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
