VIDEO - The High Holidays are upon us and millions of Jews around the world are gathering in synagogues to prayer for repentance and forgiveness. Over the years, dozens of liturgical poems and short prayers have been added to the body of prayers, enriching the holiday prayer book by adding a sentimental element to the heart's worship.
Varda Spielman, a former member of Israeli female pop group Sexsta, and Udi Spielman, her husband, the cantor of Bnai-Torah Congregation at Boca Raton, Florida, performed for Ynet three liturgical poems from the Days of Awe prayers.
Recorded at Yaron Bachar's "Montana" studios
The songs, composed especially for the couple by Meir Finkelstein, will be included in an album of hymns from the Days of Awe which the couple plans to release next summer.
On Wednesday, we heard their rendition of Shma Kolenu. Now, the Spielmans continue with Ochila La'El. We invite you to listen and get in the spirit of the holiday.
