NY Gov. says he's staying in 2010 governor's race

New York Gov. David Paterson says he is staying in the 2010 race for the office he inherited 18 months ago, despite rising pressure from fellow Democrats to drop out.

At the African-American Day Parade in New York City Sunday, the state's first black governor said he plans to run for a full term and bring New York out of its fiscal crisis. Paterson became governor in March 2008 after Eliot Spitzer resigned amid a prostitution scandal. (AP)
