Ramat Gan's Ayalon Mall to be expanded
Some 7,500 square meters to be added to shopping center's second floor, where cinema complex is located
The Interior Ministry's subcommittee for appeals at the Tel Aviv regional committee for planning and construction recently approved a plan to expand the Ayalon Mall in the city of Ramat Gan.
This was the last obstacle the Azrieli Group, which owns the shopping center, had to cross in order for the expansion to be officially approved.
The plan allows the addition of 7,500 square meters (80,729 square feet) to the mall's existing commercial areas, which total 10,000 square meters (107,639 square feet).
The areas will be added to the mall's second floor, where the cinema complex is located. The plan is to use the space for software houses, classrooms, offices, clinics, bank services, etc.
In addition, instructions have been made for adding plants to the mall's existing parking lot, as well as paths for pedestrians and bicycle riders from the mall to the Yarkon Park.
The expansion was planned by Architect Moshe Tzur.
