The beautiful female IDF soldier - part 1/2

The life and thoughts of an Israeli soldier serving in a field unit in the Israel Defense Forces

For guys like me, it's difficult enough to find a girlfriend without being a soldier.

You see, my friends would tell you that "Yoav is loud and full of jokes", and my soldiers (the ones who I command) would say that "Yoav is so charismatic". But when I see a pretty girl, my face is turning red and I become completely shy, reticent and... Well... Basically dumb. The best I can do is to smile like a moron and say "Hi" with a shaking voice.

Nothing was different when I first met Keren, a beautiful IDF female soldier girl who served as a secretary of the senior commander of my unit. I was entering the HQ for some paperwork, walked the corridor and passed three rooms. When I walked passed the fourth room, I saw her for the first time. Keren was (and still is!) a 1.67m (5'5") beautiful Yemenite girl, with brown skin and long and smooth black hair. That was about a month before I began my officer's course.

For the whole following week I've daydreamt about Keren, and just before leaving the base for Shabbat I found the courage to send her SMS - "Wanna grab ice-cream before we leave?" To make a long story short (or shouldn't I?), the beautiful Yemenite girl and I had a total of five ice-creams before actually leaving the base.

One thing led to another, and for the three weeks to come I felt "in the clouds" (an Israeli expression which means feeling unbelievably good). Our relationship was intense and we spent most of our spare time together, even though it's quite dangerous to do so in base. The three weeks passed like a split second, and then it came - IDF Officers Course. Just me. No Keren.

For a moment I thought about canceling my participation in the course, but soon snapped back to reality with a "kafa" from my friend and good-luck-hugs from others.

To be continued…

Yours,

Yoav B
