UN chief Ban vows Hariri probe will continue

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon vowed on Wednesday that a UN tribunal investigating the murder of a Lebanese statesman would press ahead despite fears that indictments could spark fresh conflict in Lebanon.

The tribunal, set up three years ago by the UN Security Council to try suspects in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri, is likely to issue indictments by the end of this year, diplomats say. (Reuters)
