Two nuns were pronounced dead following the accident and a third nun succumbed to her wounds at Haifa's Rambam hospital later Friday. A fourth nun is in serious condition while the fifth one sustained moderate wounds.
The three nuns killed in the tragedy were identified as nationals of Italy, Malta and Jordan.

An initial investigation revealed that the car deviated from its route at around 2 pm and slammed into a concrete lamppost. Two of the passengers died on spot.
Magen David Adom rescue services attended to the injured, two of whom were evacuated to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa on a helicopter. The third woman was rushed to the Poriah Hospital in Tiberias in an ambulance.
Paramdic Yaniv Yosef, a member of the first intensive care unit at the scene, said the five women were outside the vehicle when he arrived.
"The moderately wounded woman had trouble speaking because of the shock…I try to converse with her in English but without success," he said.
