Roladin to open 30 suburban cafés
Coffee chain and confectionary to invest NIS 800,000 in each new branch it plans to launch by 2013
The Roladin coffee chain and confectionary is expanding. The 34-branch chain plans to open 30 new "suburban" cafés in by the end of 2013. The new coffee shops will measure up to 80 square meters (860 square feet) in size, and some NIS 800,000 (about $220,000) will be invested in each one.

Chain officials refer to the new concept as "Roladin in the Neighborhood". The aim is to create accessible cafés and pastry shop providing a "homelike atmosphere and personal service across the country," explains Kobi Hakak, one of the chain's owners.
"The advantage of these branches is lower operation costs due to their size, which does not require high rental expenses from the investors-franchisers and allows for efficient and cheap operation using limited manpower," he says.
"The goal is to reach as many customers as possible and give them a Roladin experience close to their home."
Three branches in the new format have already been opened in Petah Tikva's Kfar Ganim neighborhood, in Marom Naveh in Ramat Gan and in the G1 complex in western Rishon Lezion.
Additional cafés are expected to open in the coming year in Holon's Het 300 neighborhood, in the Em Hamoshavot area in Petah Tikva, in Netanya's Kiryat Hasharon neighborhood, and in the Afridar neighborhood in Ashkelon.
