Sara Netanyahu consoles bereaved family

Prime minister's wife visits Ben-Yishai home, tells Ruth Fogel's mother Itamar attack 'inconceivable'

Sara Netanyahu visited on Tuesday the stricken family of Ruth Fogel, who was killed along with her husband and three children in a gruesome terror attack in Itamar Saturday.

The prime minister's wife spoke to Tali, Ruth's mother, as well as Tamar and Roi Fogel, the only survivors from the family, and praised them for their courage.

"This nation has known a lot of tragedy," Netanyahu said. "This murder is inconceivable." She told the children, "You have incredible moral strength, you can tell the strength passed from the parents to the children."

Netanyahu held Tali's hand for a long time, and told her she could call her whenever she wanted. Altogether the first lady remained in the Ben-Yishai home for around two hours.

"Your husband stands at the head of a wonderful nation and we hope he will continue to preserve it," Tali told Netanyahu, who asked whether the surviving siblings were receiving professional grief counseling. "They need to talk about it," she said, though the grandparents disagreed, saying it was "too soon".
