Vita to market imported cheese
Company to sell kosher quality cheese from Holland, France, Italy and other countries
Vita Pri Galil, which specializes in canned and frozen processed food, is entering the cheese market for the first time. The company has signed a cooperation agreement with Marcella – World of Good Cheeses, which imports the biggest variety of kosher hard cheese in Israel.
Vita will market the kosher cheese imported by Marcella in all supermarkets in Israel, with sales estimated at some NIS 4 million ($1.16 million) a month.
Marcella imports about 400 types of cheese, including Gouda from Holland, Chèvre, Brie and Camembert from France and Gorgonzola from Italy.
One of the company's owners, businessman Ran Buck, is a world renowned cheese expert, who has been importing quality cheese for years. The company markets its products to Israel's leading restaurants.
Vita will compete against Willi Food, which represents the Arla dairy from Denmark, and Williger, which imports kosher President Cheese.
