The Israeli born Simmons, whose birth name is Chaim Witz, has taken offense to Obama's 1967 border proposal made last week. Echoing what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in his speech to the US Congress, Simmons stated that going back to the 1967 lines would leave Israel's borders indefensible.
Simmons and his family left Israel when he was eight years old. In March 2011 he returned for his first visit to Israel since he left in 1957.
He described his trip as a "life changing experience" and how he has always felt Israeli: "I'm Israel. I'm a stranger in America. I'm an outsider."
Since his trip, Simmons has become a much more vocal supporter of Israel.
