The Foreign Ministry's nominations committee has decided to appoint four new assistant directors-general within the ministry. The director of the Department for Combating Anti-Semitism, Aviva Raz-Shechter, is to be appointed head of the Middle East Division. Avi Granot, Israel's ambassador to Finland, is to be appointed head of the Africa Division.
Former senior member of Israel's mission to the UN, Daniel Carmon, is to be head of MASHAV, Israel's humanitarian aid agency. Also, Rafi Gamzu, Israel's former representative to Taiwan, is to be appointed head of the Culture and Trade Relations Divison. (Ronen Medzini)
