Egyptian anchorwoman Shahira Amin, who was criticized Wednesday for the interview she conducted with Gilad Shalit moments before he was transferred to Israel, wrote on her Facebook page: "I did not take advantage of Gilad Shalit as the Israeli media is reporting."
According to Amin, she only spent a few minutes with him before he was handed over to Israeli officials: "I told him that the world was waiting to see and hear him. If he would have said that he didn't agree I would not have pressured him. I feel compassion towards him." (Ynet)
