New boutique realty investment firm formed
Veteran real estate finance executive Shlomi Ronen sets up RE investment banking firm Dekel Capital with offices in Tel Aviv, Santa Monica
The company's primary focus is on raising capital, both equity and debt, for a wide range of real estate transactions including development projects, acquisitions and recapitalizations throughout the United States.
The company is also actively is facilitating off-market investment sales transaction as well as Note and REO sales for its clients.
Dekel is currently raising in excess of $200 million of equity, mezzanine and debt on behalf of its clients.
Among its current assignments include $55 million in equity for three multifamily projects in California, a programmatic GP equity raise for seasoned multifamily developer, and $14 million of mezzanine and bridge debt (90% LTC) for the acquisitions of a fractured condo project located in the South East.
The former co-founder of Los Angeles-based Lucent Capital, Ronen has 10 years of experience in the real estate capital advisory role, facilitating more than $2 billion in equity, mezzanine, and debt financing on behalf of investors and developers throughout the United States.
Previously he co-headed the Los Angeles office for the Carlton Group, a New York based real estate investment banking firm, and was a Senior Vice President at Los Angeles based George Smith Partners.
Ronen earned his MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Finance at the University of Southern California where he is now an adjunct professor teaching a graduate level course on Real Estate Capital Markets in the Master's of Real Estate Program.
Joining Ronen as managing director of the Tel Aviv office is Omer Ben-Zur. Ben-Zur comes to Dekel after serving as a senior executive at a Los Angeles based investment and development firm with a commercial real estate portfolio in excess of 6 million square feet.
Previously, he was assistant vice president at George Smith Partners Inc., a leading national real estate investment banking firm, where he worked with Mr. Ronen and was responsible for placing debt and equity transactions.
Ben-Zur holds an MBA, with honors, from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
Dekel currently is in the process of hiring additional brokers and analysts for both the US and Tel Aviv offices.
